The original Britpop

Is The Jam, of course. For a time there, it seemed Jam songs would pop up on a Friday Random Ten like every week, and then all of a sudden, most MP3 players got tired of it. Still, it pops up on mine occasionally, and this particular song always makes me happy.

Mr. Lewis and the Funeral Five have a new album out

Local Austin band Mr. Lewis and The Funeral Five has finally put out their new album, titled Murder and the Art of Dance.

I've liked this band and their kind of vaguely caberet-ish rock sound for a long time. Here's a song:

Beth Ditto takes it off

My ongoing crush on Beth Ditto only intensifies with the news that she's posing nude on the cover of NME. (Via.)

She is so glam rock. Here's a remix of the Gossip's "Listen Up" to honor the occasion.

Welcome to Pandagon's MP3 blog!

For the purpose of sharing our favorite tunes, no more, no less. So, to kick things off, I thought I'd start with the Lee Combs remix of "Crystal" by New Order. I like the original song, but I like this one even better, because he extracts the haunting keyboard solo and gives it more prominence.

Sorry I haven't figured out how to stream MP3s yet, so you'll have to check it out at YouSendIt.
